About New York

Historically, New York state has always been one of the most powerful states in the country, and it remains that way to this day. It contains New York City, the largest and possibly the most influential city in the nation, which plays a major role in giving New York almost double the number of voters registered with the Democratic party than with the Republican party. Upstate New York, on the other hand, has traditionally voted Republican but was trending Democrat before the 2016 election gave Trump 20 more counties than Romney won in 2012. One of the most pressing issues in the state is the handling of COVID-19 since they had one of the worst early outbreaks of the disease, and their governor, Andrew Cuomo became an example of how to lead a COVID-19 response. Although New York is most known for its city, Adirondack Park is actually larger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Olympic Parks combined.
